Centring TB in Multimorbidity Research: Insights from The Gambia, Zimbabwe, and Zambia
This seminar presents ongoing and upcoming TB-related multimorbidity research from The Gambia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Speakers will discuss the significance of foregrounding TB within multimorbidity research in high-TB burden settings, including pushing boundaries beyond the siloed diagnosis and treatment of ‘communicable’ and ‘non-communicable’ chronic diseases. The seminar will consider issues around the collection of TB-multimorbidity data during and after TB treatment, findings to date, and the implications of this research for holistic, integrated service delivery for people with TB and their families
The seminar is the first in a series of seminars by the Multimorbidity Interest Group that seek to facilitate dialogue between disease- and disciplinary-specific fields of expertise across the School and partner institutions. The next seminar will be hosted by the MEIRU group, which has been at the forefront of multimorbidity research in sub-Saharan Africa.
