Does global health really care about the planet?

There is no doubt about the overlap between human health and environmental concerns - to protect population health, it is necessary to also protect the natural systems sustaining human life. But does global health and its current architecture really care about the planet? Can the new field of planetary health get the traction needed to have real political impact? Is the key challenge explaining the complexity of the environmental impact on human health? Or is the main problem the scale of the potential solutions required?

Join us at the Global Health Lab to find out!

*The Lancet and The Centre for Global Chronic Conditions on behalf of LSHTM have teamed up to present Global Health Lab, a series of focussed discussions on key global health challenges facing the international community today. Global Health Lab provides a forum for lively debate and to exchange ideas that will push forward both research and policy agendas.

LSHTM is one of 61 institutions where strikes are set to take place over 14 days in response to an ongoing nationwide dispute on proposed changes to the USS pension scheme. Some events on strike days may be cancelled at short notice due to this. Please check the event listing before you travel. We appreciate your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience.
