LSHTM ensures that all our taught and research postgraduate programmes meet sector requirements for academic standards by operating within a framework of regulations and quality assurance procedures. We follow core and common practice as outlined in the UK Quality Code for Higher Education, which has been set by the designated quality body in England, the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). LSHTM aims to demonstrate that we meet the conditions of registration with the regulator of English higher education, the Office for Students (OfS), through processes of risk-based monitoring and review.
In line with LSHTM’s school strategy, the Quality & Academic Standards office along with the Associate Dean of Education (Quality, Academic Standards & Collaborative Provision) work with the faculties to ensure that robust and comprehensive validation, annual and periodic review processes are upheld. This includes making effective use of external expertise and identifying opportunities for enhancement. The student voice is important to quality assurance management and there is opportunity for students to participate through various means, including annual and module surveys, fora and committees, the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) and periodic review.
